Privacy

This page explains the information used by WhatsCrack reader features.

Messages to the desk

When you contact us, your email, message, optional story link and consent time are stored in a private editorial inbox to handle your request. These records are not public. Please do not send passwords, identity documents or sensitive personal records.

Newsletter

Newsletter signup is unavailable until email delivery is connected. When signup is available, we store your email, consent, confirmation and subscription state. Confirmation is required before subscription; you can unsubscribe using the link provided.

In your browser

Your theme choice and saved story titles/links stay in browser storage. Reading position, open source panels and the five-story counter use temporary session storage. Clearing browser data removes these preferences; they do not sync between devices.

Analytics and site operation

We use Microsoft Clarity for usage analytics and session replay, and Google tag tools to measure site use. These services may use cookies or similar browser storage and process interaction and device information. Hosting and security services also process request information, which can include network addresses and browser details. The contact form uses a temporary hash of the network address to limit repeated submissions.

Links to other services

Sources and optional AI tools open third-party sites with their own privacy practices. A question sent using an AI tool goes to the provider you choose.

Access and deletion

Contact the desk to request access to or deletion of information you submitted. Inbox administrators can review and remove private records. Include enough detail to identify your request, without sending identity documents.
