National Medical Commission ne Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023 ko immediate effect se withdraw kar liya. Yeh notification 2019 NMC Act ke Section 10, 24, 25 aur 57 ke under issue kiya gaya tha, aur isne purane approvals, renewals, orders aur pending inquiries ko bhi waise ka waisa hi rakha.
Rulebook withdraw hone se poori penalty ladder khatam ho gayi: har violation par 1 crore rupaye tak ka fine, 5 saal tak accreditation hatana, seats kaatna aur naye course applications reject karna, saath hi false records file karne wale faculty par 5 lakh rupaye ka personal fine. Halanki, fabricated documents par broader criminal law abhi bhi laagu hota hai.
Institutions ko Act ke Sections 24(i) aur 25(h) ke under Annual Disclosure Report file karna hi hoga. MARB ne jo drop kiya hai woh independent evaluation hai — jaise infrastructure walks, faculty counts, aur student feedback — isliye ab college ki apni disclosure sirf uske apne word par khadi hai.
