Jefferies keeps wealth/AM entry open for India
Jefferies has not ruled out entering India's wealth management and asset management space, with country head Aashish Agarwal telling Livemint the firm remains open if the right opportunity arises.
The stance comes amid $5B net FPI inflows since mid-June 2026, US yields hardening (10Y ~5%, 30Y ~5.35%), and a shift toward mid-cap/hard-asset growth sectors in India.
Agarwal flagged currency stability as the key FPI trigger and said a domestic rate hike could eventually be on the table to curb rupee depreciation.
