The United States State Department sanctioned four India-based companies and three Indian nationals on 24-25 August 2026 under Operation Economic Outcast, targeting nearly $119-120 million in Iranian petroleum and petrochemical transactions.

Sadashiva Overseas allegedly imported $69 million worth of Iranian-origin petroleum products between February 2024 and June 2025, while PP Softtech and Prakrutees Infra are each accused of approximately $25 million in similar transactions.

India-Iran bilateral trade has fallen sharply from $17.03 billion in 2018-19 to $1.63 billion in FY 2025-26, underscoring the reduced but still active trade corridor.
