Apple’s iOS 27 and tvOS 27 update in September 2026 brings Apple Intelligence to HomeKit Secure Video — AI video summaries, searchable footage and the ability to stitch clips from multiple cameras into one.
The catch is pricing. Apple has tied those AI features to existing high-tier iCloud+ storage plans, not camera count: 2TB at $9.99 a month covers Intelligence on just one camera, 6TB at $29.99 covers two, and you need the 12TB plan at $59.99 a month to get Intelligence on up to five cameras. No plan currently covers a sixth AI camera.
Even Apple One Premier subscribers are limited. Premier costs around $39.95 to $39.99 a month and bundles only 2TB of iCloud storage, so it unlocks Intelligence on a single camera. For a five-camera home already on Premier, adding AI to all five means another $60 a month — $720 a year extra, $1,200 total — according to The Verge’s hands-on testing.
By comparison, Amazon Ring and Google Nest charge around $20 a month for comparable AI camera subscriptions — less than half of Apple’s top tier, and The Verge notes both currently offer more AI features. Apple says on its September 9 support page that supported camera counts and iCloud+ plan features may change over time.
