Maruti Suzuki India has crossed one lakh cumulative exports of Made-in-India Jimny 5-door, FRONX and e VITARA units to Japan, marking a major milestone for the country's auto manufacturing story.

The achievement was confirmed on September 14, 2026. FRONX exports to Japan began in August 2024, followed by Jimny 5-door in December 2024, while the e VITARA β€” Maruti Suzuki's first Battery Electric Vehicle β€” joined the Japan portfolio in September 2025.

Japan is now Maruti Suzuki's second-largest export market by volume, and the company says its vehicles accounted for nearly 100% of Suzuki's imports into Japan during FY26. Both Jimny 5-door and e VITARA are manufactured exclusively in India.
