India ka wholesale inflation August 2026 me 9.92% tak pahuch gaya, July ke 9.78% se upar. 14 September ko government data release hua, jo naye 2022-23 base WPI series me second-highest hai.
Teen baskets ne jump karaya: food 7.05% vs 6.65%, manufactured 8.37% series high vs 8.29%, aur fuel & power 22.93% vs 20.05% — sabse tez badhot.
Commerce Ministry ne mineral oils, food articles, processed food, basic metals, non-food articles aur chemicals ko main driver bataya. OPPI bhi 9.6% se 9.81% ho gaya.
Analysts ne West Asia war aur Hormuz blockade ko reason bataya — crude aur fertiliser mehenga, FY 2026-27 se food tak asar.
RBI ne August me rate 5.25% par hold rakha, FY27 CPI 5% bataya. Barclays ko moderation nahi dikh raha, India Ratings ne kaha crisis tak fuel high rahega, ICRA ko Sep-Oct me 9.5-10% ke baad base effect se cooling ki ummeed.
WPI yahan kaise pahuncha
FY 2026-27 shuru hote hi wholesale inflation badh raha hai.
- Apr-Jun 2026 — West Asia war tez, Hormuz blockade shuru, WPI upar chadha
- July 2026 — WPI 9.78%; food 6.65%, manufactured 8.29%, fuel & power 20.05%
- 14 Sep 2026 — August WPI release: 9.92% headline; food 7.05%, manufactured 8.37% series high, fuel & power 22.93%

Kya confirmed hai
Commerce Ministry WPI release (eaindustry.nic.in) ne August ke numbers aur naya 2022-23 base confirm kiya. RBI ne August me rate 5.25% hold rakha. Barclays, ICRA aur India Ratings ke views PTI par record me hain.
Aage kya dekhna hai
September WPI (mid-October me aayega), global crude-fertiliser price, Hormuz shipping update aur RBI ki next MPC guidance par nazar rakho. Crude phir badha toh ICRA wala cooling delay ho sakta hai.
Kyun matter karta hai
Wholesale cost lagbhag 10% par, factory input record high — retail me daam upar rahenge aur business ka margin dabega kyunki fuel aur raw material mehenga hai.

WPI 10% ke paas aur CPI bhi upar jaane ka risk, toh RBI rate 5.25% par zyada time tak hold kar sakta hai — loan EMI jaldi kam hone ke chance kam.
Seedhi baat
Wholesale mehngai phir double-digit ke paas — sabse bada dhakka fuel ka hai.
WPI August me 9.92% — food 7.05%, manufactured record 8.37%, fuel 22.93%. Hormuz blockade se cost badh raha hai.
